Meet the Instructors

Jessica Beatty is the owner of Bella Rose Yoga & Fitness Studio.  Jess is an MD physician trained at MSU and is the founder of Bella Rose Skin Care & Wellness Center next door to our yoga studio.  She has been doing yoga for over 10 years, is 200hr RYT certified, and teaches Buti Yoga and recovery yoga classes at the studio.   Jess is passionate about empowering and healing women with her classes.  She enjoys spending time with her family, playing with her bulldogs, and riding horses.

Stacie  Nielsen is a business partner and owner of the studio.  She first discovered yoga in 2008 when she first moved to Chicago and a new friend encouraged her to try a class. She was intrigued by the movements and how physically and mentally refreshed she felt after.  She continued to regularly practice until her brother tragically passed away in 2012. She feared her yoga mat and the emotions it would stir up. In 2017, a friend convinced her to reintroduce herself to her mat and she fell in love all over again. A well timed massage and friend told her about Light Guardians Yoga School and her heart told her it was time. She has a quirky personality that carries into her practice. She loves to keep busy and her classes incorporate this, showing that you can find peace and relaxation in consistent movement in conjunction with breath. When not on her yoga mat, she works full time as a Physician Practice Manager.  Her husband Chris, daughter Isabella, son Connor, and lab Timothy live in the heart of downtown Alpena. They can often be found checking out all the great things the community has to offer, running around the neighborhood or having a family dance off in the kitchen.

Andrea Hostetler, certified barre instructor.  Andrea’s love of fitness first started as a stress-reliever when she was attending the University of Wisconsin- Madison earning her Bachelors Degree in Sociology.  She would go to the gym to do cardio and lift weights in between taking classes and working full time.  Years later and after having her first daughter, Andrea discovered Barre classes and instantly fell in love.  She loved the low impact, high intensity workout that combined pilates, yoga and strength training all in less than an hour.  Andrea has a passion for helping people and sees these fitness classes as an extension of that.  She loves spending time with her husband and 2 daughters, enjoys hiking and exploring Northern Michigan and can almost always be found cooking up something delicious in her kitchen.

She has been a part of the Zumba Instructor Network since December 2015. Why did she fall in love with Zumba so fast? She loves Zumba because its fun, relieves stress and you’re working out but it feels more like a party! Another reason why she loves Zumba so much is the community and friends that are brought together. She also loves going to concerts, outdoor adventures, reading and of course dancing. So come try Zumba! Let loose, smile and dance!

When Rebecca Siegel, a native of Alpena, discovered her love for yoga, 20+ years ago, she knew the practice was something transformative for both the mind and body.  In 2004, she became a certified massage therapist which expanded her understanding of the human body, especially when the mind, body and spirit are in harmony. Rebecca continued her journey as a health and wellness advocate and began teaching yoga in 2005. Since then, she has been certified with Yoga Fit 1 & 2, graduated from the Light Guardians School of Yoga’s 200-hour training program and has taught many classes over the years, including the University of Michigan’s various yoga programs. Many years of breathing, sweating, surrendering and releasing on and off the mat, has brought Rebecca to where she is today. Outside of the studio, you’ll likely find her with her husband and two daughters, out with their horses and dogs, gardening, in the woods soaking up all that nature has to offer, or in the kitchen feeding anyone who enters.

Chrissy Taratuta fell in love with fitness early on. At first, yoga was simply an activity to help balance a lifestyle of running but after attending outdoor yoga classes she soon found a deeper connection. The combination of nature and yoga brought a new perspective to the practice. It quickly became a necessary habit. She wanted to share the joy and peace it brought to her with others. When the opportunity to become certified in Alpena arose, she jumped at the chance. In the spring of 2017 she graduated from Light Guardians Yoga School with a 200 hour certification. Teaching is a new experience for her and she is excited to continue learning and growing on this adventure and encourages people to challenge themselves along with her. Outside of yoga, she is passionate about nature and spends most days outdoors, hiking, running and taking photos. Her dream is to continue teaching, traveling and bringing awareness to the beauty life holds in the small joys.

Kristi Shupert has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Northwood University and is a certified Barre instructor. She is a dog mom, entrepreneur, and dancer. Her passion for dancing began at the age of 2 years old and has continued into her adult years. Kristi enjoys working on her fitness, spending time with friends and family, and traveling the world.

In the fall of 2012 Jane Mayle decided to take yoga teacher training as a way to enrich her life and expand her horizons. Jane’s training was completed in the spring of 2013 through Bodhi Seed Yoga and Wellness Center in Mount Clemens, and she immediately followed her heart and begin teaching. Shortly thereafter she was able to retire from her full-time employment, and now her days are spent sharing her love of yoga with others. She recently relocated to Lincoln, Michigan in the spring of 2018.

Ciarra Wilyard is originally from Farmington Michigan, but decided to move to Alpena because she loves the outdoors and everything that comes with it. Her hobbies include biking, hiking, swimming, campfires, yoga, and of course DANCE!!! She has been dancing since she was 3!  Freshman year of high school she auditioned for Interlochen Arts Academy and was accepted. They have a great program for ballet which is her favorite genre of dance.  For the next 3 years she danced more than she did anything. It was the most different yet inspiring experience she had ever had in her life. She met people from all around the world.  Interlochen motivated her to conquer her fears and put herself out there. When she graduated from Interlochen Arts Academy she attended Wayne State and got her BFA in dance. She is now attending ACC and majoring in business management.  Her goal for the future is to be her own boss and hopefully run a business of some sort, she just hasn’t figured out what yet. Ciara teaches Adult Ballet on Thursdays at 4pm!
